WARNING: ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!

I thought Eli's homemade snow was a big mess - boy was I wrong! If you missed the flour incident, check it out HERE. But that was a piece of cake compared to Eli's mischief today.

We went to get Eli up from his nap, and we found this...

He looks pretty innocent, and it may not seem that bad until you realize that brown stuff is NOT chocolate!

A horrible overwhelming stench filled the room. It made me want to be sick.

We put him to bed fully clothed, but after his nap we found him nakie sans his poopy diaper (it was thrown on the floor). However before it was thrown, there must have been some investigating going on. It was ALL over his crib.

So we tag-teamed the cleanup. I took Eli in for a very thorough bath. And Brian stripped all the bedding, clothing and anything that might have been touched for an immediate wash.

I think it will be a while before the smell is gone from the room - it is lingering. If anyone has tips on how to keep this happening again, I would surely appreciate it. I'm sure I'm not alone in this toddler mischief.

Don't tell my employer this, but no toddler I know can get past duct tape. No harm in duct taping the little diaper on when you put them down for a nap and then taking it off when they wake up. But shhhhh.

I think they all do this at least once.... I was unfortunately home alone when Mia tried this stunt. And I was pregnant, which made the stench particularly horrible to deal with. Luckily, Mia was pretty grossed out too and hasn't tried it again, so I don't have any advice. I just feel your pain...

I'm all for the duct tape. Haven't tried it but have heard it works like a charm.

Apparently I did the same thing to my mother when I was a baby. I think it was just a one time thing for me. I'm sure it was just a fluke too... so hopefully that will be the case for you too. Otherwise I'd say invest in duck tape for the naps! =) You'll quickly find out that everything is always harder with the first and easier as you have more kids since you had to learn the hard way the first time around!
