Trouble

Eli is into everything! He doesn't want his own toys, he wants to play with things he is not supposed to have, like keys, cell phones, remotes, cords...

This day, he got behind our armoire to play with the cords and then got stuck!

Havasu Baby

Over the Memorial Day weekend, we went to Lake Havasu with our friends, the Cunninghams and the Hanks. With both couples prego and Eli with us, we were definitely the party boat on the lake.

Eli was not a fan of the huge life jacket he had to wear on the boat. He was like a little turtle, not able to move, turn or break his fall. So, we had to hold him the whole time, which he did not appreciate.

But... he made up for it back at the house by WALKING... all over the place. He just took off. It was like he decided all at once that he'd rather walk. He pushes up to standing wherever he's at and then toddles several steps. We counted up to 30 steps at a time. I can't believe he is only 9 months old and truly walking. We'll have to take a video and post soon. But in the meantime, here are some river photos.

Little Donovan

Our good friends, the Devards, just had their little baby boy: Donovan. He is such a cutie! And he already has such a personality, with all his different expressions. I had fun taking photos of their family.

And, because I can't publish a post without a photo of Eli, here's one I happened to get just testing the lighting:

Families are Forever

This Saturday, my grandfather and Grace McKendrick were sealed in the Los Angeles Temple. It is weird to attend your own grandfather's wedding. But they are so sweet together; you can tell they are very happy.

It was so special to have all our family together in the temple. After the sealing, as our family gathered in the Celestial room there was such a spirit of love and togetherness - that must be what heaven will be like.

Here are some pics of the adorable Henderson girls: Hallie and Claire:

Here is a photo of our family. I couldn't resist leaving this one in color because it shows off my cute new haircut and color.

mmm mmm good

Eli loves food! Especially if I let him eat it himself. He loves squishing the food around in his hands. This night I got tired of trying to dodge his grabbing hands with the spoon, so I put his sweet potato puree on his tray and let him have his way with it. Needless to say, it was bath time after dinner.

Beach Day

We took Eli to the beach for the first time this weekend. Eli wasn't so sure he liked the scary, loud water, but he had fun playing in the sand.

First Steps!

I have to brag for a moment - Eli took his first steps today!!! He has been cruising really well and has tried to take a step on his own the past few days. But today, all of a sudden he stood on his own and then took a tentative step, then got his balance and took a couple more before he toppled over. I can't believe he is only 8 months old!! He sure is my mover. It is so exciting to see him learn new things. He is so proud of himself.
